Antivirals Target SKI Services Needed by SARS-CoV-2 and Other Viruses

Compounds that point to potential broad-spectrum, host-directed antivirals have been identified through in silico modeling and database screening. They target the SKI complex, which is involved in various RNA metabolism pathways. In mammalian culture, these compounds prevent the replication and survival of influenza A virus; the filoviruses Ebola and Marburg; and MERS-CoV, SARS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2.
